Description
Roman copy of a Greek original from the 4th century B.C. The original work, in marble, belongs to the Uffizi Gallery (Florence). The first copy of the series of this cast entered in the Royal Academy of San Fernando between 1776 and 1780. It belonged to the collection that Mengs gave to Carlos III, who, in turn, gave it to the Academy later.
