2011 | Silver 925 thousandths | Spanish Province Capitals (3rd Emission) | Spain is Art

Reproduction of a coin in proof quality, presented in a triptych display wrapped in a strip with the encapsulated coin. The coin, with a limited circulation of 15,000 units, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a proof of purchase by the FNMT-RCM.
This coin of 5 euros face value, reproduces on the obverse the coat of arms and name of the Capital or Autonomous City, and on the reverse a monument or motif representing it.
In this case it reproduces the SEU VELLA. The Seu Vella or Catedral Vieja de Lleida is located at the top of a hill, from where the whole city can be seen. It forms part of the Monumental Complex of the Seu Vella and is one of the most beautiful examples of Catalan art from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, both in architecture and in sculpture and painting. Its sobriety, spectacularity and solemnity are the reflection of a past full of history.
