Reproduction of a coin in proof quality, encapsulated and presented in a jewelry box with a limited edition of 4,000 units. The coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the FNMT-RCM.
This coin of 50 euros face value reproduces on the obverse an image of the work entitled “The Spring”, made by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, which is kept in the Museo de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, in Madrid. On the back is an image of the work “Portrait of Cardinal Borja” by Diego R. de Silva y Velázquez, which is kept in the Museo de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, in Madrid.
In 2013, the Royal Spanish Mint began a multi-year series to publicize the treasures of the various Spanish museums. In this third series, we find works from the Museo Nacional del Prado and the Museo de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, which are reproduced on the coins that make up this collection, with paintings by Goya, Rubens, Federico de Madrazo, Tintoretto, Arcimboldo and Diego Velázquez.
